These are some observational drawing of shells which I did in pencil, biro, charcoal and graphite, they vary from quick line drawings to tonal detailed drawings. They gave me a better understanding of the effects that different mediums can produce and how to use them. This work also changed how I draw as I realised that I can produce a simplistic drawing resembling a shell in just 10 seconds; something I previously found unfeasible. It allowed me to focus more on line to add tone, texture and depth rather than just shading.
