Observational construction

I practised some further observational drawings, this time exploring construction lines and building detail in pencil. I feel that it gave me a good understanding of how to build an observational drawing as well as which pencil to use at each stage, e.g a harder pencil for sketching the shape and a softer pencil for dark tone. I then used this to create an observational drawing of some leaves on a wall using 2B and 5B. I feel that this was not as successful as my feather drawing. The feather looks textured and free where as the leaves are quite flat and could use some lighter areas of tone.
